Upgrading Weapons and Armor

Upgrading Weapons and Armor
To start, all Weapons and Armor are limited to up to two (2) Effects which are on par with Enchantments. Weapons and Armor, though, can be upgraded and gain strength as the character progresses by gaining points.
The Template for Upgrading is as follows, and is the same for both Weapons and Armor:
Name: (of the weapon or of the Upgrade Ability)
Description: (Any changes to the appearance of the Weapon or Armor)
Enhancement: (What benefit is gained from the Upgrade? Armor Upgrades include both Protection and Effect considerations.)
Limitation: (What weakness is there as a result of the Upgrade?)
History: (What is the explanation behind the Upgrade? Why is the Upgrade the way it is?)
--- --- ---
One additional Effect is allowed per Upgrade and that Effect is allowed to be stronger than the initial Effects upon creation. That strength grows as the levels of Upgrading are used.
The requisite Limitations are also allowed to be weaker as the levels of Upgrading are consumed, but there must always be a Limitation of some sort, a downside for the bonus that is given.
Note that there is a section for History. On Spirits of the Crystals, unlike some other sites, the History is rather important. This is an Original World Setting. It is still fluid, to a degree, still able to be shaped and molded by those who choose to play here. Sometimes WHY an ability exists is as important as the ability itself.

Upgrade Schedules:
For Weapons:
25 --- One Upgrade for One Weapon
75 --- 2 Upgrades for 1 Weapon, 1 Upgrade for a 2nd Weapon
150 --- 3 for 1st, 2 for 2nd, 1 for 3rd
300 --- 4 for 1st, 3 for 2nd, 2 for 3rd, 1 for 4th
500 --- 5 for 1st, 4 for 2nd, 3 for 3rd, 2 for 4th, 1 for 5th
750 --- 6 for 1st, 5 for 2nd, 4 for 3rd, 3 for 4th, 2 for 5th
1000 --- 7 for 1st, 6 for 2nd, 5 for 3rd, 4 for 4th, 3 for 5th
After 1000 points, every subsequent 250 points gains the ability to add an upgrade to the lesser weapons, though all weapons reach their maximum potential at 7 upgrades for a total of 5 weapons. Any further weapons than those five (5) are limited to the initial two Effects and cannot be Upgraded.
For Armor:
50 --- First Upgrade
75 --- Second Upgrade
250 --- Third Upgrade
500 --- Fourth Upgrade
750 --- Fifth Upgrade
1000 --- Sixth Upgrade
1500 --- Seventh Upgrade
2000 --- Eighth Upgrade (Final)
Armor may be Upgraded by adding pieces to a Suit, in which case each piece will have its own name and it will add to the cumulative protection provided by the suit of armor. Any adjustments to the protection provided by the armor should be included as part of the Enhancement section of the Template, so the Template for Armor Upgrades would have two sections, Protection and Effect, as noted.
At the present time there is no allowance for upgrading multiple suits of armor.
